iamnotaslag asked: Hey love, I've just seen your post about going to Quebec -- congratulations! You must be so excited. Even though Quebec's relationship with the rest of Canada has been quite rocky at times, I felt as a Canadian myself I should send you a quick message and say that I hope you have a wonderful time! x

Anonymous asked: I keep imagining you with pink-lemonade blonde hair and I think that would look just so cute on you. any chance you'd ever go for that? I think the black hair ages you a tad.

I just got home from babysitting, and on the way home I hit a little possum. I feel sick. I drove home and cried in the parking lot, and when I came into my dorm my roommate asked me why I was upset. When I told her, she chuckled. I know this sounds melodramatic, but I feel disgusting. I keep thinking about the poor possum and I wonder if he’s out there in pain or if it was quick or where he...

sunbeargirl asked: what do you do to your hair to make those perfect waves? My haircut is similar to yours and I can't get it right! I don't have time to curl it properly and when I let it dry naturally it's just ;aksdjf;kjf;kladsklf. any tips?

dianetriesharder asked: part two: the classes will always focus on standard french when it comes to 'french classes' or lit classes. Doesn't mean they won't be taught by a prof with an accent or a tendency to use quebecois/parisien jargon (obviously depending on where you end up), so be careful that way. But really it's a great experience no matter where you go =] best of luck choosing/going!

dianetriesharder asked: So: Chicoutimi. I recently graduated from uni (in Ontario) with a BA in French Studies. I spent many a class studying french lit/history/society/language. I definitely know the love of language. A friend of mine in the program went to chicoutimi. He loved it, defs improved his oral and overall proficiency. To note: he focused much more on the social aspect so his grammar didn't see much...

Anonymous asked: What your school "offers" is not the limit of where you can go, nor are they the only programs through which scholarships/financial aid are available. I too went to a TN state university and did my own research on available programs outside of the brochures sitting in the study abroad offices. Sure enough, I had an excellent semester abroad in Iceland (a country where they'd sent no...

thefairesttofthemall asked: Congratulations on Quebec!!! I am conversationally-fluent in French, and it was very hard for me in Montreal. My sister graduated from university with a Bachelors degree in French. Instead of immediately going to graduate school , she joined a (really safe and legitimate) au pair program. She's living with a family in the Rhone-Alps, teaching their small children English and also the family...

Anonymous asked: Do you like French? I'm thinking of taking it, but at a college level since I go to university. What do you think? I'd love to learn the language but I'm in a pickle between that or Latin!

Anonymous asked: From my experience, the French taught is more like Dictionary French, meaning that the grammar of the sentences doesn't make much sense, but the words are the words. However, I haven't done French at a university level (I live not far outside of Quebec, so my first language is English), so it may be different. I just wanted to give you a friendly heads up about it, in case you...

Anonymous asked: I'm Canadian, and I'm not trying to discourage you from coming to Canada to study French. However, I warn you to be careful coming here to learn French. Canadian French is very very VERY different than French spoken elsewhere. I went to France for a week about a year ago, and I went with a class of French speaking Canadians & literally, they were asked to speak English because our...

*Every time I start to think about Quebec and the fact that, yes, I really am going, I catch my breath. *I bought a striped dress to wear with my black beret and high heeled pumps for a French immersion weekend coming up!   *I really want a nick-name. I have a bunch (Casper, Snow White, etc) but none that are widely known. *I begin my field experience L2 soon, and I’m worried that none of...
